It is that time of year again. One of my favourite points in the year for my blog. A STATS CHECK! I don’t know what it is about statistics but I love it! I know this year I have not been doing as well with my reading but I have been taking a slightly slower approach to my books this year. But only slightly.

I am covering from January 1st all the way up until now. So for a quick recap my main hope was to:

1. Read 100 books
2. Read 12 sequels
3. Read 50 books from my physical TBR
4. Try to focus on my new releases
5. Read 30 Manga Volumes in the month of August.

Goodreads Reading Challenge

So far this year, I have read 48 books. This is 7 less than last year. I think this is due to:

1. Not reading as many manga volumes at this point
2. I have been trying to read bigger books and more slowly so far.
3. My reading pace in general has just slowed down.

2024 Sequels

Like last year I decided to read only 12 books from my list of on-going series. So far this year I have read 9 sequels. That is 4 more than last year (and of the 5 I read only one of them was a novel) I am trying to be more on it with my on-going series as I feel that I neglected them a bit last year. I am obviously super confident that I will read the 12 before the end of the year hahaha.

Physical TBR

So after finally completing my original 2022 goal of reading 30 books from my Physical TBR in 2023. (We don’t talk about 2022) I decided to bump up the challenge and try to read 50 books. So far this year I have read 27 books.

New Releases

Now I won’t list all the new releases but they have 100% been the focus. I have managed to read 19 new releases in 2024. I am super happy with the balance of new and backlist books I am reading. I was worried I would only be reading new stuff and neglecting the entire collection of backlist books I own!
