Another year has flown by and what a year it has been. This has been more of a quiet year for me this year but after the amazing year I had last year I was very fine with having a chilled out 2024.
But 6 years is such a long time!! 2191 days or 312 weeks or 72 months!
So, let’s talk about the last year.
Lead Bookseller
So I recently got promoted at work which was amazing and slightly unexpected. I am still running our adult fiction section with my fave bookseller Dave and I still run our events which has just been getting better and better! But now I will be having more responsibility going forward especially in the lead up to Christmas.
Book Group
So last year I spoke about running my first ever YA book group. It was amazing and we read so many great books but over last year as we entered our second year of the group I noticed that everyone outside of the group were all reading fantasy books not just YA so I made the executive decision to switch the YA group to an all encompassing SFF group. This has shown more consistent turn out and I also get to tackle my TBR which is an added bonus 😉
Literary Book Festival
This year, I helped run the book selling side of a literary festival. Which was such an amazing and stressful experience with many amazing authors. My favourite event was talking about children’s literature and promoting the book The Haunted Wood by Sam Leith.
Mini Round Up

My Top Posts From This Year
Get to Know the Manga Reader – I love talking about manga so I was really happy to be able to make a post dedicated to all the manga I have been reading over the last couple of years.
The Thief and the Wild Review – An author reached out to me to read his self-published fantasy book and I was so excited to read it and I loved it. I was super proud to be a part of the promotional campaign for his new novel.
