So, every year I do a quick overview on all the series I am trying to finish. Now when i started this it was a small number and quite manageable. This year however, this post is going to be a long one. Buckle up!

Starting off with the series I have already mentioned.

Plot for Book 1: A refugee of the Great War, Poirot is settling in England near Styles Court, the country estate of his wealthy benefactress, the elderly Emily Inglethorp. When Emily is poisoned and the authorities are baffled, Poirot puts his prodigious sleuthing skills to work. Suspects are plentiful, including the victim’s much younger husband, her resentful stepsons, her longtime hired companion, a young family friend working as a nurse, and a London specialist on poisons who just happens to be visiting the nearby village. All of them have secrets they are desperate to keep, but none can outwit Poirot as he navigates the ingenious red herrings and plot twists that earned Agatha Christie her well-deserved reputation as the queen of mystery.

Still making my way through this really long series. Not counting all the other series she has written. The last installment was not great but I am holding back hope.

Plot for Volume 1: In an alchemical ritual gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his arm and his leg, and his brother Alphonse became nothing but a soul in a suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical “”auto-mail”” limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist, seeking the one thing that can restore his and his brother’s bodies…the legendary Philosopher’s Stone.

I am getting so sad at the idea of finishing this series but I am also so excited at the same time. That being said I don’t have a physical copy of volume 8 so I need to get that first!

Plot for Book 1: The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. So I am actually in the exact same position I was in last year! I still have not managed to get round to reading this next book. My plan is to dedicate the whole of December to reading that 5th book.

Plot for Book 1: In the winter of 1937, the village of Okamura is abuzz with excitement over the forthcoming wedding of a son of the grand Ichiyanagi family. But amid the gossip over the approaching festivities, there is also a worrying rumour – it seems a sinister masked man has been asking questions around the village. Then, on the night of the wedding, the Ichiyanagi household are woken by a terrible scream, followed by the sound of eerie music. Death has come to Okamura, leaving no trace but a bloody samurai sword, thrust into the pristine snow outside the house. Soon, amateur detective Kosuke Kindaichi is on the scene to investigate what will become a legendary murder case, but can this scruffy sleuth solve a seemingly impossible crime?

Now I loved the first book a lot! But the follow up books were quite lacking for me. I wasn’t planning on reading the rest of the series but I got access to the 4th book for free on Netgalley. The next book is inspired by And Then There Were None which is a book I love.

I really enjoyed the first two books but I wasn’t sure if I was going to read the hardback release of the third book or wait for the paperback in about a years time. But I ended up being lucky enough to get a physical ARC of the third book and that sealed the deal.

Plot for Book 1: Three terrible things happen in a single day. Essun, a woman living an ordinary life in a small town, comes home to find that her husband has brutally murdered their son and kidnapped their daughter. Meanwhile, mighty Sanze — the world-spanning empire whose innovations have been civilization’s bedrock for a thousand years — collapses as most of its citizens are murdered to serve a madman’s vengeance. This series gets better with each installment. I love it so much. I am so scared to read the final book though!

I cannot wait to continue this series. I already own the third book but I have the last book on order! I am also super excited to starting reading more books in this Cosmere universe Sanderson has created!

I really hope to get to the sequel before the end of the year but I tried to read it when I had COVID and it just wasn’t working out!

Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits during the school trip, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out, whether she wants to or not. Series I Have Recently Started

I had heard so many amazing things about this series and I cannot beleive it took me this long to get to it!

Plot for volume 1: Ever since he saw the legendary player known as “the Little Giant” compete at the national volleyball finals, Shoyo Hinata has been aiming to be the best volleyball player ever! Who says you need to be tall to play volleyball when you can jump higher than anyone else?

I get the hype now. I tried watching the show but I found it too slow-paced, the manga on the other hand I adore!!

Plot for volume 1: Life at Grace Field House has been good for Emma and her fellow orphans. While the daily studying and exams they have to take are tough, their loving caretaker provides them with delicious foods and plenty of playtime. But perhaps not everything is as it seems… Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.

Probably my favourite manga as of right now. The characters, the plot, the art style. All perfection!!!

I was super lucky to get a physical ARC of the first book but I don’t think I am going to be that lucky this time round. If that is truly the case then I will wait for the paperback release.

This was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. It tackled some really interesting topics and I love the characters.

Probably one of my favourite new manga series out at the moment. I can’t wait to continue the series.

Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan—from foreplay to more-than-missionary position… Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic…

A romance novel I picked up due to hype on social media. Well, I enhaled this story in like 2 days. I need the sequel.

Plot for comic 1, part 1: Picking up exactly where Avatar: The Last Airbender left off, The Promise takes Aang to a Fire Nation colony in the heart of the Earth Nation, where tensions between neighbors threaten to shatter the world’s newfound peace—putting the Avatar on a collision course with one of his closest friends, Fire Lord Zuko!

I loved the show with my entire heart. After hearing more live-action tv show news plus the new movies I had to read the comics.
