So we are back again to talk about some of the series I decided to DNF. I will be honest, when it comes to continuing series, rarely will I read more than 1 book and then DNF. I know pretty much from the first book if this is a series I want to continue or not. So pretty much all the books listed today are the first in their series.

- Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses
- Author: Sarah J. Maas
- Genre: Fantasy Romance
- Book I Stopped At: A Court of Thorns and Roses (Book 1)
Now, I decided to read this book purely because of all the hype I read online. The tiktoks, the tweets everything. I was getting serious FOMO. When I read ACOTAR, I felt I had been lied too. Sure it was ok. I got why people liked it but I was not blown away at all. I hated the love interests, I hated the abusive nature of the men in this story and I found the plot itself to be fine. Nothing groundbreaking. Since then I just felt no desire to continue. I have heard that it gets better but I have also heard the criticism against this series and her other books and also the very valid criticism of the author herself. So, I have decided that this series and any of her other books are not for me.

- Series: The Kiss Quotient
- Author: Helen Hoang
- Genre: Romance
- Book I Stopped At: The Bride Test (Book 2)
So, I devoured the first book. I loved it so much and legit read it in 2 days. When I picked up the Bride Test I was excited to get back into the series. Unfortunately, the first couple of chapters didn’t grab me and I ended up putting it down and never returning back to it. And considering I have 200+ books on my Physical TBR. I don’t think I ever will get back to it.

- Series: Six Crimson Cranes
- Author: Elizabeth Lim
- Genre: Fantasy Romance
- Book I Stopped At: Six Crimson Cranes (Book 1)
Another book I picked up due to the hype. While I enjoyed this book as a whole. I had no desire to read the rest of the series. Even with the announcement of the prequel, I just don’t want to read the next one. I happy with just the one book.

- Series: Hades & Persephone
- Author: Scarlett St. Clair
- Genre: Fantasy Romance
- Book I Stopped At: A Touch of Darkness (Book 1)
Now I went into this knowing I was not going to continue the series. I just wanted to see what everyone was talking about. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would but I have no desire whatsoever to continue the series. Again, I felt the first book ended fine and I didn’t feel any need to see what happens to the characters. I am over most Hades and Persephone re-tellings anyway. That being said, I am intrigued to read some of her other series as they sound very interesting.

- Series: Legends and Lattes
- Author: Travis Baldree
- Genre: Fantasy
- Book I Stopped At: Legends and Lattes (Book 1)
Now, this one makes me sad. I was super excited for Legends and Lattes. It sounded right up my alley but when I read it I was just disappointed. It was quite underwhelming and at times boring. So because of that, I won’t be reading the prequel.
I hate it when it turns out that a book or a series that looks really good, and that should be excatly the kind of thing I love turns out to be really boring or otherwise unengaging! It’s happened to me a couple of times that are really memorable. (I won’t mention which ones). So disappointing!

Yes, it’s such a shame. Thankfully I kind of figured out it’s not my thing really early on. I hate DNFing series when I am a good number of books in to the series.
