Today I will be reviewing Song of the Huntress by Lucy Holland and The Disappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
So, as I am trying to catch up on reviews, I thought I would review the last two books I read which both happen to be Dark Academia set in the world of the performing arts. One book is set at an elite Parisian ballet academy and the other book is set at a prestigious performing acts school in Edinburgh.
I think the last time I spoke about my Netgalley books was back in 2020! We need an update!
Shiori, the only princess of Kiata, has a secret. Forbidden magic runs through her veins. Normally she conceals it well, but on the morning of her betrothal ceremony, Shiori loses control. At first, her mistake seems like a stroke of luck, forestalling the wedding she never wanted, but it also catches the attention of Raikama, her stepmother.
Raikama has dark magic of her own, and she banishes the young princess, turning her brothers into cranes, and warning Shiori that she must speak of it to no one: for with every word that escapes her lips, one of her brothers will die.
Peniless, voiceless, and alone, Shiori searches for her brothers, and, on her journey, uncovers a conspiracy to overtake the throne—a conspiracy more twisted and deceitful, more cunning and complex, than even Raikama’s betrayal. Only Shiori can set the kingdom to rights, but to do so she must place her trust in the very boy she fought so hard not to marry. And she must embrace the magic she’s been taught all her life to contain—no matter what it costs her.
Today I list some adult books that i think would make great transitional books from YA to adult fantasy!

So this is it! Another year ends which means another wrap up! This will be my third time wrapping up my year of reading! Thankfully, I did slightly better this year than I did last year.
Check it out! 🙂
I did an opposite post to this a week or two a go, where I listed 5 books/series that I have seen on all types of social media and that I desperately wanted to read. Like with a lot of my posts I try to do a follow up post that is the opposite. So here are 5 books/series that I have seen all over social media that personally don’t interest me.
Having been watching BookTube for a number of years and making my way through both Book Twitter and BookTok. I have noticed a trend in book series and books that always repeat themselves and are constantly being mentioned! So today, I thought I would make a list of 5 books or book series that are insanely popular on social media that I want to read. I give into the hype!
