The Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus Character Book Tag

Before I get into this I want to remind everyone that my Black Lives Matter post is up on my blog. You can find numerous links on this blog with petitions to sign and places to donate to. I wholeheartedly encourage you to support this movement. The post is here.

So, with the news that Percy Jackson will be rebooted and turned into a TV show on Disney+ with appropriately aged characters and Rick Riordan writing the scripts AND supervising. I was looking for new Percy Jackson content, I wanted to talk about this topic but apart from saying I am so excited I had no idea what else to say!

May from Forever and Everly decided to create a tag to talk about Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus. I was tagged by her to complete this tag! So let’s go!!!

So, first up… the RULES!

  • Thank the person who tagged you and link to their post.
  • Link to the original creator: May @ Forever and Everly! Please note that she made the artwork/graphics, if using them. *If you care about graphics having a clear quality, make it big enough so that the dimensions are 1103 x 175!
  • Match books with the given prompts.
  • Tag however many people as wanted!
  • Copy-paste the rules and list of prompts.

Now onto the post…

Percy Jackson

Your Favourite Book of the Year

So, this was hard as I have recently been reading some really good books but I went for the The Hod King as I feel like this is only 5 star book on my list where I could not find at least one fault. It was enjoyable the entire way through and I am super happy with the trajectory of this series!

Annabeth Chase

A Book Where You Are in Awe of the Author’s Genius

So, the reason I chose this book is Rio studied Shakespeare at University. This is her area of expertise and I feel that the characters in her book really embody characters from a classic Shakespearian play but we really get to see these character’s deconstructed over the course of this book. This book is Rio’s own Shakespearian tragedy.

Grover Underwood

A Book You Love That is Underhyped

I hate to sound like a broken record but I just do not see enough love for Christina Henry and her work. She is the Queen of a dark re-telling! I decided to choose her book Alice this time as I feel like a few more people know of Lost Boy.

Luke Castellan

A Book You Thought You Would Hate But You Didn’t

This book is so far out of my comfort zone and I was pretty sure I was going to DNF this book about 50 pages in but I ended up being really invested in the story. The writing was beautiful, Fehervari really championed female characters and the blend of religion and science was really intriguing.

Chiron

A Book That Always Feels Like Home

I love Agatha Christie’s novels. I have been reading them since I was 11 years old. I own the Hercule Poirot TV adaptation box set and watch them with my mum, it’s something for just us! The Poirot series is my favourite. I just have so many memories thanks to this series.

Tyson

A Book with a Sibling Relationship You Adore

I instantly knew I was going to choose this series when I saw this prompt! I am currently re-watching the anime at the moment and I just adore these boys! The bond Alphonse and Edward have is one that I think all siblings strive for. They are a perfect team, always lookout for each other but they can call each other out when necessary. I love them!

Thalia Grace

A Book Where Time Froze When You Read It

I read this book in basically one sitting. I was just so invested in this story everytime I looked at the clock another hour would have passed! This book was just so good! I think the difference between Sadie’s POV and the podcast transcript really allowed for me to maintain attention with this story.

Nico Di Angelo

A Well-Loved Book You Love Too

Before I read this book I had heard nothing but great things about the series as a whole. I knew I had to give the story a go and the minute I read the first chapter I was hooked! I think I would have read the entire series one after another if I didn’t have all the unread books on my shelf!

Calypso

A Book You’d Be Marooned on an Island With

I feel if you are going to be marooned on an island with only one book I cannot choose a book that’s part of a series. I would want to read the sequels so I decided on a standalone that was quite big so it would last a long time per reads. I decided on this book because I feel like it has pretty good re-read appeal and is just an amazing book in it’s own right.

Rachel Dare

A Book You Predict Will Be 5 Stars

I recently bought this book after hearing so many great things about this and the sequel. Finally, I gave into the amazing reviews and bought it. So fingers crossed I feel the same way!

Jason Grace

An Upcoming Book You Would Willingly Get Hit By A Brick To Read

So, the book I am about to talk about has only announced the title. There has been no cover reveal yet! The book I am talking about is the last book in the Books of Babel Quartet and that is The Fall of Babel! I am not excited for the end of my favourite series of all time but I am excited to read the book itself.

Piper McLean

A Book You Loved That Someone Convince You To Read

So, no-one in particular convinced me to read it but I saw so many people in the book community talk about this book and I knew I had to read it. It ended up becoming one of my favourite series ever! It’s also one of the books that got me back into reading sci-fi!

Leo Valdez

The Funniest Book You Have Ever Read

I plan on re-reading this book in August for the ONTD reading challenge. This book was so incredibly funny and I loved how this book was a parody. I can’t remember too much about it other than I found it really funny.

Hazel Levesque

A Book You Read A Long Time Ago but You Still Love

I actually re-read this book in 2019 after not reading it since 2014 and it still held up. I was still laughing and getting teary-eyed and still being blown away by this story. A favourite forever!

Frank Zhang

A Book You Were Afraid of Finishing

So, I chose this book more becasue I was not liking what I was reading and I was worried that the more I read the more I would hate it. And I had heard so many great things about this series and I really wanted to like it. But I was not a fan!

Reyna Ramirez-Arellano

A Book Everyone Hates but You Love

I really struggled to find a book for this prompt. I could definetly think of a couple that everyone loved but I hated. For this prompt I went for this poetry collection, I did not enjoy the first collection at all but I found the second collection to be a lot more enjoyable for me. I preferred the feminist message and I felt the theme was maintained throughout the collection a lot more than the first one.

Octavian

A Book You Would Punch Without Hesitation

Again, not to sound like a broken record but I think you all know how much I do not like this book. I just couldn’t connect to the main character, the main romance or the story as whole. I gave up halfway though as the only thing that kept me going was then over really quickly. So yeah, not for me.

Percabeth

A Book with the Best Romance

I am not the biggest fan of this trilogy but I loved this book and I loved the romance between Julian and Scarlett. It was also consistent throughout the series, I just loved them and their connection. I don’t normally get phased by YA book boyfriends but Julian is amazing! I prefer him over all the other love interests in this series. I think he was a good balance of bad boy with heart of gold.

So, there you have it! This was so fun to create!
